A Christian Journey

“Go and learn what this means; I desire mercy, that is, readiness to help those in trouble, and not sacrifice and sacrificial victims…..”     Matthew 9:13a    Amplified

No one can argue that Jesus went about helping people. Those who came to Him, and that’s a distinction to note, were always helped. Our verse today gives us a key point in our walk as believers, mercy not sacrifice. Sometimes being merciful requires sacrifice, but it should always be in that order. The heart of the matter should be compassion and the desire to help someone, if that requires us to go out of our way then comes the sacrifice. The Lord will not count any sacrifice you make for the sheer point of sacrificing to show what YOU have done for Him.

Jesus sees the heart and knows the reason for our actions, to be like Jesus we must think of others.
