“And He went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every weakness and infirmity among the people.” Matthew 4:23 Amplified
As we study the life of Jesus and how He conducted Himself here on earth we can summarize the verse today by saying He went about doing good. We all go about every day, to work, to our homes, to church, to the store, driving our cars, walking in and out of places, and mingling with other people. Do we go about doing good. For most of us, me included, we tend to be very me focused, thinking about what’s going on in our own life hardly noticing all the other lives around us. I think quite often it would do ME good to stop thinking about all that’s going on in my life and focus on someone else for a change, to do good that is.
Jesus shows us here that we should look for ways to do good to others. Maybe we don’t have the gift of physical healing, but sometimes just a kind word to someone can bring about spiritual or emotional healing. Even just smiling at a stranger and saying good morning can brighten someone’s day.
Let’s make an effort to go about doing good.
