“Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ the Messiah may rest, yes pitch a tent over and dwell upon me!” 2 Corinthians 12:9b Amplified
I just love the ending of the verse above, Jesus pitching a tent and dwelling over me, wow! That’s such a powerful word picture, yet we have to look at the rest of the scripture to fully appreciate it. He’s saying we need to glory in weakness and infirmities. That’s not in the human mind-set, ah but that’s the point, we gladly glory in the strength and power of Christ!
We try to handle things in our own strength and Paul is telling us that only makes the problem worse. It actually makes us spiritually weaker IF we’re able to handle things in our own strength.
He finishes this thought in verse 10 by saying, “So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities, and distresses; for when I am weak, in human strength, then I am truly strong, able and powerful in divine strength.”
We must view life through spiritual eyes and pray God opens our eyes wide.
