“And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent, and he took Rebekah and she became his wife, and he loved her; thus Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.” Genesis 24:67
Our next woman of the Bible is Rebekah. The story in Genesis 24 is of Abraham asking his servant Eliezer to travel back to his hometown to get a bride for Isaac. The local girls were pagan and Abraham wanted a woman for Isaac who knew and loved God. Without going through the whole story Abraham told his servant he would know the right girl when he saw her by what she did. A woman after God’s own heart should be submissive and tender-hearted, and Rebekah was.
Once the servant arrived in Nahor he asked Rebekah for a drink of water, which she gave him, then she offered to water his camels. She didn’t know this man, but she had compassion on him and his animals.
We should always do things not for what we can get, but because it is the right thing to do. In this case, that’s what Rebekah did, but she was rewarded, as well as her family.
The scripture says that Rebekah was beautiful, I’m sure some might think that was her outward appearance, but I believe she was beautiful on the inside as well.
Let your inner beauty show.
