“And then a certain lawyer arose to try Him, saying, Teacher what am I to do to inherit everlasting life? Jesus said to him, What is written in the Law? How do you read it? And he replied, You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind; and your neighbor as yourself. And Jesus said to him, You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live – enjoy active, blessed, endless life – in the kingdom of God.” Luke 10:25-28 Amplified
Yesterday we looked at the don’ts of our relationship with God, today we see Jesus telling someone the do’s.
It sounds simple, to love God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind. That means He is a part of every aspect of your life. Your heart is that part of you that is in direct contact with God, your spiritual man. Your soul is your inner self and personality. Your strength is your will and emotions. Your mind is where you do all your thinking and decision making. So let’s break it down further. Do you commune with God on a daily, moment by moment basis? Do you invite him to mold your inner self and personality? Do you give your will and emotions to Him? Do you bring Him into all of your thinking, planning and decision making?
God wants to be the center of your universe and as your Creator and Redeemer He should be. The first step to loving God the way He deserves is by humbly bowing before Him acknowledging Who He is.
It’s your path to everlasting life.
