A Christian Journey

Proportion

“Let Your mercy and loving kindness, O Lord, be upon us in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You.”   Psalm 33:22

We wonder sometimes why God has not answered our prayers.  This scripture tells us that His mercy and loving kindness – His answer – is directly connected to our faith, our waiting and hoping for Him.

Do we sometimes pray and ask Him to help us, but then we fail to wait?  We live in an instant society and want an instant response to our prayers.  God is not instant.  Throughout His Word he tells us all is in His time.  There are so many examples of people waiting on God and great things were done.  Abraham and Sarah waited for a child. The Jews waited in Egypt for their Deliverer.  David waited to become king of Israel.  Mary and Martha waited for Jesus to come heal there brother Lazarus, but He did better – He raised him from the dead!

Keep your hope in God, wait on Him no matter how long it takes, for He has the best for you.
