“Rejoice and exult in hope; be steadfast and patient in suffering and tribulation; be constant in prayer.” Romans 12:12
What is hope? Is it something we say could possibly happen, and we say in a matter of fact way “well I hope one day to do this or that”.
This scripture tells me to “rejoice and exult” in hope. Remember when you were a kid and you were told you were going to get something or go somewhere that was so exciting that most of us would say “I can’t wait!” Then that was all we would think about, and count the days till THE day arrived. I believe THAT is how God wants us to be when we hope for something we believe God wants to give us.
While we wait on the Lord we must be patient and sometimes even go through suffering and tribulation. We must still keep that hope in mind and in fact when we think about it, get excited to imagine how the Lord will work it all out.
Finally, we must be constant in prayer. Continually bringing our requests to God and thanking Him for answering our prayer according to His will. Whenever our mind goes to this hope we wait for, this suffering or tribulation, then bring it to God in prayer and He will give us peace over it.
