A Christian Journey

What is your plan

“And David said to Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord.  And Nathan said to David, The Lord also has put away your sin, you shall not die.”   2 Samuel 12:13

As we look at David’s sin, and our own, we see that David did not plan to sin.  Most often neither do we, so why does it happen?  Obviously our human weakness comes into play, but we have been looking at the steps that lead to it.   We must be aware of these to avoid letting it happen to us.

The last step David took was that he was impulsive.  Instead of stopping to consider the situation he was in he reacted with his feelings and emotions.  He looked on Bathsheba and for most of us, especially men, that was all it took to move forward into sin.  Be wary of your feelings and emoitions for they will get you into trouble if they are left unbound.

The good news, though David continued down a dark road, once he was confronted with his sin, he repented and confessed his sin to God and was made right again.  We are offered the same thing.
